Free Introductory Consultation

60–90 Minutes · In Person or Virtual

Free

No cost. No obligation. A genuine invitation to explore.

This is your entry point. A thought-provoking session for school leaders, staff teams, or mixed audiences — parents and governors welcome — that introduces a powerful and evidence-backed reframe: underperformance is not an ability problem. It is a culture problem.

  • ✦Introduces the Afrocentric model of education and its measurable impact on Black student attainment, focus, and retention
  • ✦Explores how fostering cultural belonging reduces absenteeism and increases engagement
  • ✦Names the problem of "poisonous pedagogy" — rooted in white supremacist systems that privilege one culture over all others — as described by bell hooks
  • ✦Presents the alternative: a Pedagogy of Integrity, where every child sees themselves reflected, respected, and empowered in their learning
  • ✦Open dialogue with leaders, teachers, and parents around school-specific context
  • ✦Suitable for Inset days, leadership briefings, parent engagement events, or governor sessions

Half-day. Full-day and multi-session packages available on request.

Your staff now understand the thesis. This session helps them examine their own context. Moving from awareness into honest, structured self-diagnosis, this workshop invites schools to ask: where exactly does the culture gap live in our classrooms, policies, and corridors?

  • ✦Guided Culture Gap Tester — a structured staff activity identifying where cultural blind spots exist in curriculum, behaviour policy, and relationship practice
  • ✦Attainment Gap Audit Guide — a practical diagnostic tool schools keep and revisit independently
  • ✦Facilitated reflection on representation, language, and belonging across year groups
  • ✦Introduction to culturally-affirming classroom strategies staff can implement immediately
  • ✦Group debrief with action planning framework
  • ✦Suitable for whole staff, middle leaders, or pastoral teams

The Philosophy

From Poisonous Pedagogy
to Pedagogy of Integrity

Poisonous Pedagogy

As bell hooks identified, a pedagogy rooted in white supremacist systems promotes one culture over another — erasing the histories, languages, and contributions of Black and brown students. It teaches children, subtly and systemically, that they are the object of education rather than the subject.

Pedagogy of Integrity

A pedagogy of integrity places every child's cultural identity at the centre of their learning journey. It draws on Afrocentric models to affirm, challenge, and inspire — ensuring that Black students see themselves in the curriculum not as footnotes, but as protagonists.
